EASTER SEALS HITS A HOLE IN ONE WITH ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL GOLF TOURNAMENT Easter Seals of the Birmingham Area raised more than $124,914 at the Ninth Annual Swinging For Solutions Golf Tournament sponsored by Tuscaloosa Toyota, an $11,000 increase from the 2010 tournament. All money raised from this year’s tournament will go towards providing services to children and adults with disabilities throughout a five county market area including Shelby, Jefferson, Blount, Walker and “The continued success of this tournament has helped us raise more than $653,700 over the past nine years including the $124,914 that was raised at this year’s tournament,” said Julie McLaughlin, Development Chair for Easter Seals of the Birmingham Area. “Branding and name recognition are imperative when it comes to fundraising and this tournament has certainly become one that corporations in Birmingham mark their calendar for year after year, claimed McLaughlin, “We are so grateful for their continued support in helping us change the lives of adults and children with disabilities. Golfers enjoyed a day at Greystone Country Club where lunch was provided on the course by Pelham Texas Roadhouse. After the tournament, guests had the opportunity to enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres while bidding on more than 40 live and silent auction items that raised more than $23,000 for Easter Seals of the Birmingham Area. Easter Seals of the Birmingham Area is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
